I shudder to think as to what it would be like, if we failed to tell the difference from our now ubiquitous masala dosa, or a butter kulcha to the best of Italian pizzas! Or a humble lemonade being akin to the most cherished Chenin Blanc or a Single Malt?! Just imagine the horror of this, seeing these distinct dishes, cuisines presented to you in the best of ambience possible but you just being unable to taste and tell the difference....? Horrifying is it not? Precisely why I feel that besides the gift of speech, as humans, we are blessed with the faculty of taste...
A taste for the good things in life, a taste that is so nuanced to help us distinguish the bitter from sour, the tangy to the spicy, the mellow to the musky... a faculty carefully cultivated by the sommelier and a gourmet alike, by any foodie to the best of the Michelin Star chefs! In this section, I celebrate my culinary and gourmet delights from across India, from the best 5 Star experiences to the humble Chaat corners, where I have had a chance to indulge my senses and my cravings alike. Food, like life, is an experience that one cherishes, one remembers and yearns for and identifies with. From the Keerai Molaguttal (Spinach Sambar made with pepper) to the Quisedellas, my culinary preferences extend to varied cuisines, barring the Chinese of course, that sadly never appealed me.
If you are one such gourmet or a foodie just high on good food, am sure my experiences will resonate with yours too...
