Levelling Loss
Nothing is permanent as you can you see, peace and happiness is within…
But externally I have to keep fighting...we all have to…on one level or the other…
You say you think Corona is an Avatar of Kalyug
Come to reboot the planet before man completely destroys it…
This malafide virus in the meantime makes a mince meat of the multitudes..
As always they are expendable and are collateral damage in the war of vanity
The perennial, undying human hubris undermining God and nature alike
Has ravaged its own, multiple times under different guises, under different excuses, under different regimes and under different eras…
Lakhs would be affected now and if there is one, in the future too …
It was a holy war at times, the great war at another, the forces of evil to be quelled
The black death to be conquered, genocides for ethnic pride and cleansing
Arms and ammunition testing…
Trashing this planet of sustenance, for the good work of our fellowmen we display little deference
Ensconced in the comfort of palatial houses with sea views and leather couches
Their high rises correlate their overvaulting hubris too.
The ones who are suffering, actually bearing the brunt now
Once gain the multitudes, dismayed and displaced
Drenched in sweat and tears they wonder at life’s arrears
As they trod miles to their native homes, for in the cities they worked they are merely migrants.
Causing mayhem to one and all we now discuss essential supplies and moratoriums
The pros and cons of having open the liquor stores!
Surely we are greater than the cosmos and nature it seems.
Beleaguered doctors, police, nurses and all the groundsman
Strive tirelessly to sustain us, the most malevolent of nature’s species.
While the well-heeled generously dole out pictures of their workouts and vanity
For them, even now, as always, they are celebrity and the sole divinity.
Governments dispatch aircrafts for the stranded, scrambling non-residents
The lives of these powerful and dollar rich are far too precious you see.
I feel sorry for the rapists and pick pockets, the social butterflies and the mall frequenters
The clandestine lovers and the politicians
The indomitable personalities and the sly racists
The ruthless businessmen and the greedy brokers
The crash consumerists and the superfluous narcissists
The desperate housewives and the beautiful celebrities
The helpless crorepatis and the hapless poor
The sensitive animals and the insensitive humans
The selfless doctors and the selfish NRIs
The vulnerable oldies and the ignorant infants
My condolences to one and all
For, in this terror that we have unleashed
The turmoil and travesty will be doled out for all.
It may or may not be the end of us all
Nothing is permanent as can you see, peace and happiness is within…
The choices we make and made will determine our future…
